"Mr. Taylor applies some time-tested coaching methods from other sports. He encourages his students to record videos of their game-playing and then email the files to him. Before a lesson, he?ll review the videos to determine how he can best help his pupils.
Like other professional gamers, Mr. Taylor began playing at an early age, devoting more and more of his time to them as he improved. Mr. Taylor, who lives in Jupiter, Fla., with his mother, quit high school in the fall of 2004 to pursue his professional game career, though he says he plans to take a high-school equivalency test. Game coaching has turned into a lucrative sideline for him: He has made up to ?2,700 in one week and he was recently able to raise his hourly rate to ?65." ------Originally from Post-gazette.com
About Gaming-Lessons
Starting back in August 2005 I envisioned a place that would offer individual and team training to gamers of any age or skill level. The plan was to get gamers, like myself at one point, who wanted to improve they?re skills in as little time as possible. It took me years to get to the top of pro gaming and at times I wished I had someone to show me the ropes of competitive gaming. So I gathered the best and most respectable pro gamers in the community, who shared the same passion for teaching as I did, and started Gaming-Lessons back in September 2005. People all over the country immediately became interested in Gaming-Lessons and what our product can offer. They wanted to know; can you really get better from a Gaming-Lesson? Immediately after our launch, EGM released a 2 page article in its October 05? issue about how their intern, James Lee, went from worst to first in just 3 simple hours of training. Along with EGM, Gaming-Lessons has wracked up some impressive media coverage extending from MTV, The Wall Street Journal, and was even found in articles across the globe after an interview with the Associated Press. Back in September I never dreamed of starting something so big that would help so many people. Ever since then our instructors have given hours of lessons to nearly 1,000 students.
