If you#DY#re intensely interested in ancient Kung Fu, if you#DY#re looking for a MMO gaming experience based around Ancient China, maybe this game fit you well.Based on traditional Chinese culture, World of Kung Fu takes place in a mythical land founded on the ancient Kung Fu moral values of justice and heroism.we recently received an opportunity to have a interview with VestGame Entertainment. Now let#DY#s have a talk with Dave Clarke, the Producer for the North American version of World of Kung Fu.

MMOsite: First congratulations, you#DY#ve successfully started open beta for World of Kung Fu (WoKF) in the United States on February 14, 2008. How are things going on with your open beta? And what#DY#s the feedback?

Dave Clarke: So far, so good!  We#DY#ve had over 50,000 account signups to date, and people seem to enjoy the game.  Of course, there are a few things that need to be tweaked, but the overall response has been very positive.

MMOsite:  How would you describe World of Kung Fu to someone who has never heard of it before? What#DY#s the storyline or backstory of the game? And what types of gamers are you targeting?

Dave Clarke: World of Kung Fu is a free to play MMORPG based on the stories and mythology of ancient China.  You start off in the game as a martial artist trained in some kung fu, ready to make a name for yourself in the world.  A lot of the story line revolves around the creation of a peaceful "Wulin" or traditional Chinese kung fu society, but there is another underlying story line about the evils in the land that goes much deeper.  I can#DY#t give too much away because a lot of that is still in development!

We#DY#re targeting gamers who enjoy an immersive world, but are looking for something a little different than playing elves and dwarves.

MMOsite:  Western audiences are always fascinated about the ancient Chinese culture and Chinese martial arts/Kung Fu. Is that the reason which led you to import World of Kung Fu?

Dave Clarke: It#DY#s one of the reasons, yes.  The main reason is that we like the game and we like the upcoming content, and also we felt that this game had some new things to offer the MMORPG community.

MMOsite:  Apart from traditional Chinese culture and Kung Fu, what are the other elements which you believe will make World of Kung Fu appealing to the western audience?

Dave Clarke:
The Country war system is great as it allows for a lot of PvP play and it even lets players become king or queen of a country in the game.  I think that because this game world is so much different than what western players are used to, they will find it very new and exciting!
