MMOSITE: Hi, I
m Seal Danpier from MMOSITE. It s my pleasure to conduct this interview with you. What titles are you showcasing at ChinaJoy this year?
Jon: We re bringing a handful of titles here, including Crazy Speed Online, Ray City Online, Extreme Skate Online, Fantasy Journey Online, Richman Online, Chinese Paladin Online, Real Extreme Action X2 and Super Dancer Online. Crazy Speed Online, Extreme Skate Online are our in-house developed titles and we would like to particularly recommend them to the gamers.
MMOSITE: Just now, you particularly mentioned Crazy Speed Online and Extreme Skate Online. So, can you first basically introduce these two titles to our audience?
Jon: OK. I ll first talk about Crazy Speed Online. Crazy Speed Online is a title emphasizing realistic sense. All the racing cars and tracks in the game are from real life. Players can enjoy the beautiful sceneries of famous streets and big tracks while having a tense and trilling whirlwind driving. Recently, we conducted a questionnaire survey among several thousand users. 57% questionnaire participants said the most attractive feature of a racing game is it must be realistic and give gamers a high feeling. In order to cater to the gamers, we have signed license agreements with world-famous car manufacturers to obtain the right to use the appearances and performance data of a series of racing cars. During game play, gamers can drive the cool racing cars from internationally well-known manufacturers like Volkswagen, Honda and Ferrari and experience realistic pleasure of driving. Of course, we will continuously add more new model racing cars, like the yellow Ferrari F1 racing car you just saw in our booth. It is a new car model we re going to push out soon. So, please stay tuned with Crazy Speed Online.
Concerning Extreme Skate Online, I d start by talking about our original intention for making the game. Before conceiving the game, the development team noticed that on the current market, it is a huge potential market for sports online games. In addition, from a market survey called ¡°your most anticipated sports online game¡±, we discovered that football which is a sport for all was not so favored by the gamers. Instead, the gamers were fervently expecting the exciting and dangerous street skateboarding game. And we realized that sports game may become another growth point apart from MMORPG. To have a try, we produced Extreme Skate Online. Unexpectedly, it was received well by the gamers at the beginning of testing, which was a great relief to us. We ll continue to improve the game to reward gamers support.

MMOSITE: As we know, the international version of Super Dancer which is developed in house by 9you is surfacing. Can you basically share with us how the project is going on?
Jon: Yes, just like you said, we are preparing promotion activities for Super Dancer Online around the world. There will be a great number of versions of Super Dancer Online for 41 countries. We re busy with the localization work. According to the progress, it is expected the first language version will come out in the latter half of this year. We welcome gamers from around the world to join in this dance world full of rhythms and fun.
MMOSITE: Currently, 9you mainly focuses on casual games. In the future, do you have any plan to develop other types of games, like MMORPG?
Jon: This is a very good question! Currently, 9you games have 200 million users and the concurrent online users hit 1 million. With such a big user community, we have to consider how to meet their needs. Currently, 9you mainly operates casual games. But many student players still hope that we can launch MMORPG titles. In order to meet their needs, also in order to promote Chinese culture, we released Chinese Paladin Online which was adapted from a RPG title by the same name. Currently, this highly anticipated MMORPG based on Chinese mythology is in its last stage of testing. It is scheduled to be released in the first half of 2008. This is only the start. In the near future, we will push out more different types of new titles and even game equipment which can enhance human machine interaction. For example, we re developing a motion capturing device which can in real time capture the motions of the gamer who is in front of the screen and reflect them onto the screen realistically. Following the messages on the screen, the gamer can play game through moving his hands or feet. I think this kind of brand new experience will bring a reform to the future online game market.
