Interview with Eugene Koh, the game coordinator of PKO, he gave us more info about this expansion.

MMOsite.com: What can we expect in this expansion?

Eugene Koh: In this expansion, players can expect a new region with new maps and dungeons. There will also be new creatures to slay and new bosses with exciting new equipment!

On top of that, there will be new random mini bosses and new quests along with new gems and item apparel sets that will be made available in the Item Mall.

Lastly a new system, Honor Exchange System, will be implemented so that players can use the Honor Points gained in the arena to exchange for exciting rewards!

MMOsite.com: How can players get Caribbean expansion, can it only be purchased from the net?

Eugene Koh: Caribbean Expansion is currently available for pre-order until the 5th of Feb. We are giving away special items during this period. After which, the product will be available for normal retail on our site and our distributors online store and retail outlets.

MMOsite.com: Let s talk about what the expansion is doing to appeal to new players. If people passed over PkO before, why should they give it a second look now?

Eugene Koh: We feel that many players who have left have actually explored most of the game and therefore have felt that there is nothing more for the game to offer them in terms of discovery and adventure. With this new expansion, we have opened up a whole new realm of creatures to slay, equipments to obtain and also new cosmetic changes to polish up the game.

MMOsite.com: What kind of new zones were added in Caribbean? What level players are fit to explore it?

Eugene Koh: The Caribbean is the new region that was discovered. On this continent, some of the new areas are: Treasure Gulf, Skeletar Isle, Heaven, a new Naval Base, Underground Docks, Armory and a Research Shelter. These areas are recommended for players level 70 and above if they do not wish to die in a single blow.

MMOsite.com: What s the overall story of the expansion? More than 30 quests will be added in this expansion, can you tell me something about this?

Eugene Koh: Recent discoveries of an ancient portal that existed since the beginning of time has led the brave team of Carsise, Ami, Phyllis and Lance to a new never before explored Island, the Caribbean.

There, the treacherous new monsters and bosses await, not to mention, tales of legendary treasure and The Kraken!

Will they fall pray to the Black Jewel ship of the Caribbean? Will they be able to slay The Kraken, the legendary creature of the sea? Can they defeat the new dangers that are found on this new island with new found equipments and weapons off the island?

Join the crew as they embark on a brand new journey, once against unknowingly into dire straits, in our latest Pirate King Online expansion, the Caribbean as they find themselves also caught in a crossfire between the islands creatures, the Death Armada and the Navy!

MMOsite.com: Tell us something about the new equipment.

Eugene Koh: The new equipments are highly improved with nice graphics and good statistics to help players improve their character. Eventually they are meant to aid the players in slaying the ultimate creature in the game, the Black Dragon.

MMOsite.com: There are 4 new bosses: Kraken (Lv 90), Barborosa (Lv 85), Black Jewel (Lv 75), Deathsoul Commander (Lv 85). Can you tell us about them and what they will drop?

Eugene Koh: Hehe, for now these are meant to be a surprise. We would like to keep the players in suspense while attempting to defeat these bosses so we will try not to let the cat out of the bag for now.

MMOsite.com: What s the master plan for the franchise after this expansion is released? What can gamers expect in the future?

Eugene Koh: We are already working to arrange for more events, both indoor and outdoor activities. Server expansions, and also taking some of the good suggestions from players to have it incorporated into new patches by the developers. We are also planning to release a new version 1.34 after the Caribbean, which will include new life skills like manufacturing, crafting and also other new systems such as Pet Marriage, in-game slot machines, a Black Market, and a reborn system for a whole new range of replayability and many others which we would like to keep hush for now.

MMOsite.com: Let s step back and look at the bigger picture for a bit. Do you think that the MMO market has changed in the past couple of years? And what are you doing with PKO to make sure that it stays relevant?

Eugene Koh: The MMO market has grown over the past couple of years. Previously only big names like Everquest, Ultimate Online and others were well known. Nowdays more and more MMOs are coming into the market and the competition is getting tougher. Therefore we are always trying to take into consideration player needs and suggestions to make the game a better experience for all!
