Scions of Fate interview with David Park, the Game Developer of the game.

MMOsite.com: What age group and diversity of people is playing the game?

Honestly if you look, Scions of Fate is played by a huge range of users ranging from kids in early elementary school to folks who have long since retired.  It s safe to say that the majority of our users begin from the teenage years and go until the mid thirties; not to say that you can t or should not play the game if you re outside this range.  Scions of Fate is a community-building game, so meeting people is always a good thing.  The wider the diversity, the better the gameplay!  ^_^

MMOsite.com: Can you give us a brief view of the five classes in Scions of Fate, what are their features?

There are five classes in the game: Swordsman, Bladesman, Spearman, Archer, and Healer.  The Swordsman wields two-handed swords and are known for their strength and defense.  Their speed is not their greatest asset however.  The Bladesman wields single-edged blades, dealing damage in faster smaller attacks.  The Spearman wields spears which have great damage capability, but leaves a lot to be desired in armor.  The archer deals damage from afar and can move the quickest, but is very light in defense.  The Healer can also deal damage from afar, but is more focused on support abilities such as healing and buffs.

MMOsite.com: Should all classes be equally powerful? Should they have the same capability to solo and as welcome in groups, or should they all just be fun to play?

Ah, the ultimate question when it comes to class design!  Since Scions of Fate focuses a lot of its aspect on community, many of the skills are distinctive and fun to utilize in a party setting.  Solo play is not impossible; however, it is just harder to do.  With so many distinctive skills and abilities finding the right party can sometimes be a quest in itself.  But it s definitely worth it!

MMOsite.com: Can you give us some insight into the character development system? How can gamers make decisions?

Once a character hits a certain status, they must make the choice between the factions of The Order and Chaos.  Included in this initial choice of faction is a promotion of class bestowing skills, quests, and appearances specific to each side.  Quests given to players of the Order cannot be undertaken by members of Chaos (and vice versa).  Almost half of the game becomes closed off after making the choice of faction.  There are other choices as the characters progress and are promoted, but I ll leave that as a surprise for our players.  Outside of classes and promotions, there are TONS of choices that range from ability specialization, and character look/personality to decorative items and rank.
