Dreamlords is a persistent world in which victories and hard work will not pass unnoticed. Everything gained will make the player stronger for the next encounter.
David Rosen, the CEO of Lockpick Entertainment and Executive Producer of Dreamlords came to tell us more about Dreamlords. Here is the second part of the interview.

MMOsite.com: The quest system is the highlight of the game, what would you like to say about it?
David Rosen: This being the creation of Marcus Andrews, Senior Game Designer, IĄŻll let him answer this:
Well IĄŻd have to dispute that the quest system is actually the highlight of Dreamlords. The highlight is the unique unity of different forms of strategy, single player, multi player, turn based, real time, etc.
The player versus environment system (PvE) is based on the fact that mission are spawned from the world. This is a great difference from most RTS where missions are linear and scripted in a hierarchy. There is also a great difference in how missions are spawned, some are part of a quest chain, others appear due to circumstances on the players land. Missions are different amongst themselves in that fact that some are significantly more difficult but hold a greater reward and spawn less frequently etc. One great strength with the pve system is that we can use quests as prerequisites to lots of other things in dreamlords. This allows us to create quest chains that require quests to be completed, technologies researched or even specific items to be possessed. We could easily make an item that provide a bonus to melee combat for a unit AND unlocks a quest. This item could then be traded on the market or whatever.
We also have a great diversity on perspectives on missions. The player can in some missions take a 3rd person perspective and play as the Dreamlord. This creates diversity and brings the player closer to the world. All in all, the pve system gives the world a sense of realism and meaning, consequence and action. You feel as you are really there and that this is a land in need of your guidance.
MMOsite.com: How does the PvP system work, similar to or different from traditional RTS? How many players can battle in the same map at most?
David Rosen: First of all, PvP is potentially very rewarding and one of the major features in Dreamlords but itĄŻs not something everyone has to do to be able to progress. That said, our matching system will match players of similar strength who is online and looking for a PvP game. Currently matches are one vs one as rewards are individual in this game, as we expand the game with Convergence wars more players will be able to fight it out.
