While the online gaming market was flooed with violent action games,developer behind the games inspired from classic stories say that familiar stories help make their games different from other online games where knights fight monsters and enemies in a medieval world.Developers take characters from classic fairy tales, so gamers can encounter a different story or meet heroes who look different from what you imagine, and Tales Runner is of that kind.

The game features various kinds of footraces, which take place in the worlds of popular stories such as the Korean folk tale "Hungbu and Nolbu", the English fairy tale "Jack and the Beanstalk" and Jacob Grimm‘s "The Frog Prince".

In "Hungbu and Nolbu" gamers can see how a Scrooge-like Nolbu is punished, and in "Jack and the Bean Stalk" gamers compete to climb up beanstalks.
