| The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Korea will invest 13.5 billion won (about US＄ 13 million) to revitalize the gaming industry and develop a sound gaming culture. At the Introduction Conference of Gaming Industry Policies in 2006, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism made public the policy orientation and industrial plan of year 2006. It will make efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of Korea�s gaming industry in the international market. The ministry also said that it will totally invest 13.5 billion won to fulfill the goal, among which 12.5 billion comes from state treasury and 1 billion from non-governmental funds. Besides, in order to alleviate the side effect brought by gaming and to develop a sound gaming culture, the ministry will develop a gaming addiction treatment program. | | |
