Over the past couple years it‘s become clear that Korea has a bit of a thing for massively multiplayer games. Not too surprising, then, to find publishers looking there for titles that can be localized for the western market to capitalize on the MMORPG surge brought on by World of Warcraft. The success ofGuild Wars certainly proved the viability of the idea. At least it seems to have impressed Codemasters who formed an Online Gaming division, went to Korea and returned with RF Online for its first MMORPG.

As you probably figured out it won‘t be catching on (if it does) on the strength of its catchy name. Actually, how it wound up with such a nondescript name is a mystery. The "RF" stands for Rising Force, which sounds a lot more interesting (not to mention evoking the guitar shredding of Yngwie Malmsteen). Be that as it may, the game itself doesn‘t lack for style, at least not in the visuals department. You can judge them yourself from the video and screenshots.
