One of the highlights for us at Turbine who went to E3 was meeting members of the community. Many of them played the Weathertop demo and spent some time with our developers, who showed them around parts of Eriador like the Shire, the Great Barrow, the Midgewater Marshes, and more. We asked these folks to post on our forums and give their impressions of the game. You can read the whole thread here, but here are some highlights of what they had to say!
Calilove: "YEAH! I visited, played and beat weathertop and had a great time! Had a very interesting and informative chat with MSR while waiting (even though she yelled at me for checking /emotelist ;P )."
jessieeax: "I played through the demo a couple of times. Both times we failed because the healer died early on. It was very easy to get into and even something like starting/using the combo system was intuitive yet rewarding."
Elenthalion: "The gameplay was so fun that I don‘t really want to play anything else until the beta happens."
Elcarin: "We were impressed with the game. Even though I swore off being at the launch day for another MMOG a long time ago, I‘ll be there for this game. It appears that Turbine has taken the essential elements of the modern MMOG and combined it with a well crafted interpretation of Middle Earth."
Earendil: "The Weathertop demo was a blast to play, visually and mechanically appealing. I‘m looking forward to the beta and all the other classes that was not shown at E3."
ghostraker: "I stopped by and was given a guided demo by one of the developers. He was very informative and answered all of my questions as well as hinted at answers regarding ones he wasn‘t allowed to answer!.... Can‘t wait to play!"
Methost: "I came, I saw, I conquered."
If you were at E3 and visited our booth, we‘d love to hear from you too!
