Cryptic Studios has just released the first CG trailer and nine screenshots for their upcoming free-to-play Neverwinter MMO.
Neverwinter was first announced in 2010 as a co-op focused RPG. However, since Perfect World Entertainment acquired Cryptic last August, the game was been redevelopment as an action MMO based on Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition and features cooperative gameplay. It will require quick reflexes and mouse clicking from players.
The game will adopt a free-to-play mode and the content packs released after launch will also be free. But players are able to use real-world money to purchase pets, fancy clothing items and consumables through microtransactions.
Neverwinter will be playable at PAX East this weekend and is set to release in late 2012.
