Guild Wars 2 Console Version Confirmed, Large-scale Beta Coming Soon

ArenaNet once hinted that they are planning for a console version for Guild Wars 2. Today Guild Wars Insider confirmed via the NCsoft conference call that Guild Wars 2 will have a console version at some point and is now in a "preparation stage". But don't worry, as ArenaNet stated, they are fully dedicated to the PC version currently. Therefore, console version is unlikely to launch at the same time as the PC version.

The call also mentioned the upcoming beta testing for Guild Wars 2. "In March and April there will be large-scale testing for GW2; depending on results of testing a finalized commercialization schedule will be determined. [The] console version will be launched separately from [the] PC [version] at a later date," ArenaNet's Martin Kerstein stated.

NCsoft also said that they will be considering "seasonality factors" when determining "final commercialization" for both Guild Wars 2 and Blade & Soul. For more information about the call, head over to Guild Wars Insider for more details.
