The 3D fantasy MMO Project X7 of ChangYou’s Next-gen Game+ Plan has amazed many players with its lifelike graphics since its release. Players are curious about the gameplay of “combining cultures and worldviews of East and West” as introduced before. Now we will reveal the art styles in the game developed with ChangYou’s self-developed Darkfire Engine and see if the art styles combining Eastern and Western features are satisfying enough for us.

Apart from making players feel fresh, it’s more important for the art styles combining Eastern and Western features to seem reasonable. It does not mean the irrational scenes like the rocket gun against Kylin are not allowed, but how to show the scene naturally. It requires not only the perfect basic art skills but also a deep understanding of Eastern and Western histories and cultures.

The First Concept Art of a Lead Character in Project X7

From the first released concept art of Project X7, we can see the adept control of arts in it. Not only the accuracy is shown in the concept art, but also the Eastern and Western elements are presented harmoniously. The male lead character’s face is featured with Eastern elegance while his dress reminds players of the Western sacrifice robe. It is also the image positioning for all male characters in final development of Project X7.
