Epic Games vice president Mark Rein revealed at the DICE 2012 summit that the Unreal Engine 4 will be revealed in 2012. We still remember the U3 tech demo at GDC 2011 which was impressive.

"People are going to be shocked later this year when they see Unreal Engine 4 and how much more profound an effect it will have," Rein said.
Mark Rein also revealed that Unreal Engine 4 is already up and running on a variety of hardware "including systems we can't name yet."
Epic claimed that consoles are going to have to get a heck of a lot more powerful to keep up. Speaking at the DICE 2012 summit, Epic founder Tim Sweeney claimed that his company's next-generation gaming engine will require consoles ten times the power of the current generation in order to run at its maximum capabilities.
