Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios are pleased to aunounce that they have officially launched the free to play version of Star Trek Online. To celebrate, they has released a new launch trailer. Check it out below.

Anyone can download and play Star Trek Online at no cost. There's no better way to see how sitting in the captain's chair feels."
Users will still have the option of paying $14.99 per month for "Gold"-level status, or else pay nothing and have the option of buying upgrades later. Cryptic has published a comprehensive list of both options , with perhaps just the bridge slots per rank as the only distinguishing feature between the two pricing plans. Users can go to the game's Web site and download the installer client.
