Netmarble announced today at GDC 2017 that the company would bring Lineage 2: Revolution to players all over the world.
Lineage 2: Revolution is a mobile MMORPG of the Lineage PC game. It is developed using Unreal Engine 4 and has been out in Korea since mid-December 2016. A release date for the game's global versions has not yet been announced.
"Our vision was to bring the complete Lineage experience onto the mobile platform, without sacrificing graphics quality and features when compared to PC MMORPGs," said Simon Sim, CEO of Netmarble US. "With the end result, we achieved over $176 million after launching in South Korea alone, and we plan to expand soon to other markets in Asia and the West."
Lineage 2: Revolution pulled in 5 million monthly active users. It not only managed $176 million in revenues in its first month but also surpassed $100 million in 17 days.
