Hello MMO - MMO News Roundup for February 2017
ByDate: Feb 28 2017 Views:
The second month of 2017 has passed quietly. There weren’t many hot MMOs coming out this February, nor are there numerous new MMOs announced for the upcoming months. Still, if you care much about MMOs, you must have found that this past February was not that quiet. With that said, this month’s Hello MMO is going to round up what happened in the world of MMOs throughout February and what we can expect in March.
There were two hot MMOs available on Steam this February. One was Conan Exiles, and the other was For Honor. To be exact, the release date of Conan Exiles was January 31st. I now just put it in the group of February due to the aforementioned slow news month. Let’s have a look…
Conan Exiles - Steam Early Access
Conan Exiles is an open-world survival game where you must fight to survive, build, and dominate a world against harsh conditions. The story is based on the world of Conan the Barbarian. When you start the game, you can see a man walking up to a woman nailed to a cross. The man frees the woman and gives her a double axe. A group of beasts then arrives and attacks them. They fight against the beasts and kill all of them. The man then walks off leaving the woman to survive by herself in the harsh land.
Conan Exiles has been on Steam Early Access for almost a month. So far, the most discussed aspect of the game is its detailed character customization. Players start the game by creating the character we see nailed to the cross. Like in other games, hair, face, body, voice and a lot of other items can be adjusted. But what’s really different? In Conan Exiles, players can even choose if they want to see nudity, partial nudity or no nudity. Apart from the usual breast augmentation of women, men’s penis size can also be adjusted. Good news is: for players who don’t appreciate such a thing, this feature can be turned off.
For Honor - Released
For Honor was released on February 14th. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios, For Honor offers an engaging campaign and thrilling multiplayer modes. Players embody warriors of the three Great Factions - the bold Knights, the brutal Vikings and the deadly Samurai - fighting to the death on intense and believable melee battlefields. The three factions each have four fighters: a standard warrior (Vanguard), a fast but vulnerable attacker (Assassin), a heavy (Heavy) and a hybrid of two of the preceding classes.
The game has an innovative combat system named the Art of Battle. It puts players in total control of their warriors and allows them to utilize the unique skills and combat styles of each hero to vanquish all enemies. In For Honor, players can enjoy a multitude of ways to bring death to enemies. There's beheading, garroting, neckbreaking, spinning decapitation, evisceration and so on. IGN published a video in February detailing all the 36 brutal execution styles in For Honor.
