ByDate: Jan 22 2017 Views:
2016 is now a turned page in the history book of games. At the beginning of a new year, what we like to do most is round up what can be penciled into our list of anticipated games for the whole year ahead. We gathered 10 anticipated games here for this month’s Hello MMO. Some of the games have already entered beta status while some might not be available even by the end of 2017, but let’s just cross our fingers that what we crave for will be coming soon. If your anticipated games are not included in the list, let us know in the comments section.
Chronicles of Elyria
Chronicles of Elyria from Soulbound Studios is still in early development. It is said to be the first MMORPG where your character ages and dies, thus encouraging you to think beyond your character. The project kicked off with the help of a Kickstarter campaign and is currently waiting for the closed beta to start. It has also been Greenlit on Steam. With all the castles and pristine nature, the world of Chronicles of Elyria makes one think of medieval times.
As for the combat mechanics of Chronicles of Elyria, it uses mouse buttons to chain combat techniques together into combos. Combos are configurable in the UI, allowing players to develop their own personal combat style.
Crowfall has been in development for some time and it is said that 2017 will be the year to witness its glory. Crowfall’s campaign worlds can change with time. There are four seasons during which the world grows more deadly as the land is consumed by an unstoppable legion of undead. And the Worlds are made of voxels which are destructible.
Unlike Chronicles of Elyria, players are immortal in Crowfall. Campaigns come and go, but heroes will live on and continue to advance from one campaign to the next. Crowfall is currently in the Pre-Alpha 3.0 testing phase. The game has achieved its stretch goal by an Equity Financing campaign through Indiegogo. On January 17th, Crowfall successfully raised about $670,000 in a Title III equity offering. Developed with Unity5 and defined as a Throne War Simulator, Crowfall focuses on political alliances and feudal conquest. If the word is true, we can expect enjoying it at the end of 2017.
