2015 was a surprisingly good year for gamers with a lot of new games playable. For example, Heroes of the Storm’s launch in June, Skyforge’s Open Beta in July, WildStar's free-to-play launch on September, and ELOA’s launch in November. The vigorous momentum of client game industry convinces us a better new year.
I had written down Lost Ark and Lineage Eternal on this list because I’ve been so hyped for them, while after much thought I removed them. For now, the developer of Lost Ark does not tell any plan for the West, and Lineage Eternal skipped G-star 2015 even if it schedules to launch globally, so it takes time to see them, at least 2 or 3 years later. Taking into account of your opinions in Readers’ Choice event 2015, I’ve selected ten MMOs and list them here. Now let’s look ahead to 2016 and find what game will surprise us.
It’s hard to define the genre of Star Citizen, I'd say it's a mixture because it blends space flight simulator, first person shooter, MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) features together, and it will receive Oculus Rift’s support, undoubtedly, it’s a promising project.
After reaching 1 million backers in last October, the company opened the alpha access of Star Citizen for players. Alpha 2.0 is the biggest update to Star Citizen yet, a wide swath of features, including large world maps, multi-crew ships, seamless first person combat, missions and much more have been introduced. However, we have to wait for the full version of the game for a while because no exact release date is announced.
At Gamescom 2015 Battleborn’s publisher, 2K Games, has announced the release date of this MOBA which will start on May 3, 2016 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One, so cheers! We’ll see it soon! And four playable characters: Ambra, Melka, Rayna, and Benedict at that time have been unveiled. Seldom first-person shooter has ever had such many character as Battleborn.
Adopting a first-person perspective, Battleborn features both a co-op campaign and multiplayer PvP mode. Players can pick up a hero to fight shoulder by shoulder and complete quests with friends in a tight co-op campaign, or try out one of several different competitive multiplayer match types in games of up to 10 players.
