This week's WildStar Wednesday reveals more details about the plans of cross-realm in WildStar. The same as other MMOs, WildStar provides many different servers (or called 'realms' in WildStar) for players to choose from at launch. And there will be the usual rulesets of PvP, PvE, etc. In most of MMOs, you have to start with a new character if you want to play with your friends who are in a server that different from you. So here's what Carbine is doing to support cross-realm play throughout WildStar.

For starters, you can communicate with any player on any server by using @ symbol regardless of what server you're in currently. "/w CharacterName@RealmName Hello!" would allow you to speak with others online as if you're on the same realm. Along with that, WildStar will also allow you to party with friends and meet strangers from other realms through the Group Finder. But if you don't like to see or play with others from different lands, you can choose that you only want to play with those who are from the same realm as you while the cross-realm checkbox appearing. Then the system will match the people who are on your own realm for you.

However, there are some limitations to the systems. "We sadly can't allow you to explore the world as a whole with your friends; as the world would quickly become too crowded. But anytime you enter instanced content, whether through battlegrounds, dungeons, arenas, or , your entire party will all be able to play together. There is also a limitation on being able to trade items. Because we feel the economy on every realm is very important to maintaining the economic stability of the realm, you cannot trade with your friends from other realms."
