G-Star 2013 - B2C Area Now is Lack of Exhibitors

G-Star is a big game feast for the players who like Korean games since we can get lots of info about Korean MMOs from it. As usual, G-Star 2013 will be held in Busan this year from Nov 14th to 17th.
In the past two years, every G-Star had at least 15 game companies and 60 booths to showcase in B2C Area. However, according to Korean game media's survey result on Sep 13th, only Nexon and Wargaming have confirmed to participate this G-star. Half of the companies that took part in the exhibition last year, including Gamevil, C&J Netmarble, Neowiz, Ncsoft, Webzen, Wemade and NHN, haven't decided to participate or not this year. And the companies like Tstore, Mgame, AfricaTV and Red5 have determined that they will not appear in this G-Star.
The reason why some companies are hesitating is because there isn't a new game that is worth displaying in the exhibition. And it doesn't have any new content to show for the revealed games while the running games are not easy to catch players' eyes. As for mobile games, although there are many new titles, it's hard to choose some that deserve long-term attention, and mobile games' lifecycle is much shorter than MMOs. Actually, we also can get from this year's game news that developers didn't choose to announce new works at game exhibition any more. They just did it when they want.
Currently, G-Star's official is communicating with the big game companies for the problem as well as accepting many small-to-medium companies' participation application. The application deadline has been extended to October, providing a longer time for game companies to consider.
