SEGA’s action MMO now live in Japan. The open beta test for Phantasy Star Online 2 ended yesterday and the game officially launched in Japan as of 2:00 PM JST today.
The launch introduces “Arks Cash”, a currency used for purchasing items in the cash shop. A retail version of the game is also slated for release on September 13 for 6279 yen. It will come with an installation disc along with a number of in-game items and other extras.
There doesn’t seem to be any IP blocking in place, so if you can handle a little Japanese, head on over to the official PSO2 site and download the game (here’s a handy registration guide from PSUBlog).
