November 20th, the controversial policy "nighttime
shutdown" policy came into operation in Korea.
The point of this new
"curfew" of sorts is to help curtail MMO games addiction among Korean citizens,
a problem that's been making headlines off and on for a while.
But
whether this police really work is a complicated question. Compulsive policy is
powerful to restrict time teenagers spent on Internet at first place. But there
exist potential trouble that some teenagers will find other method to access to
games, using their parents ID information for example. The whole game industry
will be affected as well.

And the leader of Network community indicated that they will make further promotion to strengthen the network culture.
We see many countries used different ways to restrict or restore rights of playing game. But whether "night time shut down" is the best way to handle the games addiction needs further discussion. And how long will the policy operate? Nobody knows.
