Fansites Receive Diablo III Beta Invitations

According to Diablofans, Blizzard Entertainment has contacted several Diablo / Warcraft fansites, to email their Battle.net accounts so that they could be granted access to the upcoming Closed Beta Testing of Diablo III.

So when can we actually, expect Diablo III Closed Beta to start?

Very soon. My personal guess is somewhere between early to mid September.

According to the leaked Product slate of Blizzard, they are aiming for a late 2011 release of Diablo III. Each of their products receives at least four months of Beta Testing prior to release. Thus far, the slate has been proven correct. Every game was released as the slate highlights.

Can normal players gain beta access?

Sure, though, but this requires a plenty of luck.

In order to opt-in for a Closed Beta test, you must have a registered Battle.Net account with at least one Blizzard product.

Sounds easy...

1. Well, you log into your Battle.net Account.

2. Click on Manage Games and Beta Profile Settings

3. By downloading the Beta Opt-In Application you create your Beta Profile. You will have to download Blizzard's SystemCheck software, based on your operating system (PC/Mac) and submit your system preferences. This includes data about your computer, HDD, ram, processor etc.

Once you complete the system preferences check, you will be prompted to your Beta Profile Settings, where you can view and/or update your system preferences, as well as choose which Beta Tests you're interested in. I recommend to tick all of them and Update your preferences.

The Opt-In Process

Once a while, Blizzard will randomly select players who have opted-in the Beta Testing to be eligible to enter the Closed Beta. This period varies from a week up to a month, depending on how many testers they actually need. Some keys are given out each year at Blizzcon for future Beta Testings so they may actually work for the Beta, once it starts.
