A Casual Gamer's Perspective on A Mystical Land

Adventure the world! Kill monsters! Protect the villagers! And when you get bored with that, you can farm, tend animals, collect bugs, gather wood, mine, and then USE WHAT YOU GATHER! Craft armor, weapons, clothes and more!

A Mystical Land is a fun and simple browser based 3d MMO. Nothing new in mechanics, but the world is fun and has a great campy sense of humor. The game starts you out in a nice easy to learn tutorial world. You learn how to shear sheep, then tend them to make then grow their wool faster. Gather wood and metals to make weapons at the smithy or the lathe. Gather bugs and crops to cook food and potions to heal and use to make better items in other places. You can even fish for ingredients. The way they keep the economy controlled is by limiting the number of actions you can perform with crafting and gathering with the equivalent of a stamina gauge. Like Facebook, the stamina recharges over time, so you can comeback in a few hours to gather and craft some more. But what do you do while waiting for that?

You go out and fight! Of course this is the meat and potatoes of the game. The typical quests are what you find here, with a few interesting and fun stories behind them. "Go kill this monster because the music it plays is just too annoying!" "Um, go kill a bunch of this and that and bring me this stuff as proof." "I lost the kids in the castle tour! Can you go find them for me?" These are a few examples of what you will find, and many, many more.

How will you fight these monsters you ask? Well, that will depend on what class you choose to start! Will you be the mighty warrior, wearing heavy armor and slicing your enemies with your sword? Will you instead choose to be a wiley hunter and shoot your foes from a distance, ready to flee the battle when needed, or heal your allies? Perhaps you will instead choose the powerful wizard, using the elements to destroy your targets both near and far. But no, you may just choose the pious priest, healing and aiding your allies before you charge into battle and beat your foes senseless with your mighty mace!
