Call of Duty Online Micro-Transaction Game Confirmed by Activision Blizzard

People have been talking about Call of Duty MMO for a long time, and now Call of Duty Online finally gets confirmed, but it's for Asian market only. Activision Blizzard said at the earnings call on May 9th that they were developing a Call of Duty online micro-transaction game for Asia.

It seems that the MMO won't be just a side product of COD franchise as Activision Blizzard tells in its press release that "robust investment in forthcoming Call of Duty titles, including a micro-transaction game for China."

Although Activision doesn't mention in the announcement, it's believed that Modern Warfare 3 is one of the "forthcoming Call of Duty titles". Early this year, Activision announced Beachhead Studios, who will support in-game integration and bring online experiences and console play together for the first time. Speaking of the upcoming Call of Duty game, Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg says "The unprecedented online universe that will accompany it will reset the bar for this genre, giving players a new level of immersion, connectivity, community and, of course, epic action. The game has exceeded every internal milestone and we look forward to sharing it with you soon."
