Rift: Patch 1.2 Will Introduce Wardrobe Slots, New Dungeons and More

After Trion pushed out the first major content update just one month after Rift's commercial release, now players will soon receive the 1.2 patch, currently slated for May 4th. It is known that update 1.2 has already hit the alpha test server with tons of great changes, including new wardrobe slots, crafting rifts and a new 10-man raid instance called Gilded Sanctum, etc. The patch note is really a lengthy one so we will outline some highlights below:

Full Sizerift

  • Wardrobe slots are introduced for you to customize your character's look! Additional clothing items will be available in the future, including from new Clothier vendors in Sanctum and Meridian.
  • Telara's universe is comprised of a myriad of planes and realities that all intersect with each other while a "Sliver" is a place where a thin slice of another reality can be seen intersecting with Telara. The Planar Goods merchants in Meridian and Sanctum now sell the ascended power to view slivers which allow you to see things others might not be able to see, and potentially lead to the discovery of the entrance to Gilded Sanctum, a raid instance intended for 10 players.

  • Lures for Crafting Rifts and are obtained by completing the new weekly crafting quests in addition to the tradeskill-specific Plaque the quest awards. These Rifts drop raw materials, Augments, and other goodies for crafters.
  • Patch 1.2 will employ the 'Looking for Group' tool which enables players to group up with other players more easily when raiding dungeons or doing epic world quest content. With the LFG tool, players can just sign up for one of the four roles (just like other MMOs, tank, healer, support and DPS), then system will automatically port you to the corresponding dungeons when a group is formed.
  • You may now purchase a 5th role at your Calling trainer!
