Hi, This is your Casual Gamer with something I have looked forward to for a while. I am sitting here talking with a good friend of mine, bestselling fantasy author Lynn Hardy. I know… why am I interviewing an author for a gaming site? Because she has been approached about possibly getting an MMO made out of her books. If you do get the chance to pick them up they are the Prophecy of the Flame series, book three to be coming out soon.

First off, Lynn, tell us about how you got into writing.

Well, to tell the truth my love of the written word didn't come as easy as it does to some. I didn't soar from the nest into the arms of a good story, I was determined to stay under the wings of my mother for as long as she'd let me. But the day came when I was kicked out into the big world of Literature.

All parents know that by a certain age, kids are supposed to start reading. I didn't. I enjoyed curling up with my mom and listening to her read to me. So one day when I came home from school, I found this exciting new book on the dining room table. When I begged her to read it to me, she said, "You're old enough to read it yourself, if you want to know how Cinderella becomes a princess."

That's great. I have read the first two books and am eagerly awaiting the release of book three (not to mention I helped write some of the action sequences). What do you think about the idea of making the world of Cuthburan into a game?

I hope to be very interactive with the video game process. I've been gaming since college - I get totally wrapped up in the games I play. That is kind of what inspired the Prophecy of the Flame series. My roommates were LARPers (live action role players) and D&D players from way back. They talked about making their garb, and going to Renaissance Fairs. I even got to watch them practice dueling. It was all so cool, like the games I enjoy playing so much come to life.

What if a newbie like me, I thought, was sucked into magical world? How cool would that be? When I had this awesome set of dreams, this idea helped me fill in the blanks to create my first series.
