I am the founder of the FB group which posted Cataclysm news since 8/23/09. I am playing WoW since the release of Burning Crusade. I like writing articles regarding Cataclysm. The most time I enjoyed playing was high-end TBC - Sunwell Plateau. |

Casual Players
Tend to play the game for their own amusement; these players really enjoy the content and do not just steadily rush through it to level as fast as possible. The time these players spend in-game isn't as much as the time hardcore players do. Their class proficiency may be a bit shallow, but in overall they perform pretty well. Casual players may be in a raid guild, but the progress isn't the most important thing for them as they have different values. Casuals log onto the game once, perhaps, twice a day, to complete the Daily/Weekly dungeon and/or craft a profession item, which is on a cooldown (for example Alchemy gems). There is a tendency of putting some items in the auction house for profit.
Hardcore Players
Play the game for more than just their own enjoyment; in overall they perform much better compared with casuals. These players devote several hours per day to the game, performing all types of tasks: herb gathering, raiding, or just stand idly in a city hub.
