The so-called Ghouls 'n Ghosts Online is based on Ghosts 'n Goblins, a well-known arcade game made by the Japanese company Capcom and released in 1985. Ghosts 'n Goblins, famous for its extremely difficult gameplay, depicts how the prince enters the Demon World and progresses through various levels to rescue his lover - Princess Prin Prin who was kidnapped by the King of Demon World. After the arcade version, more than 15 sequels were released on different platforms successively including Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, and Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins with over 4,150,000 copies sold, enjoying wide popularity among gamers.
