FPS Mission Against Terror (M.A.T) started CBT last August 20 and will end on September 3 in Philippines. We share a review written by a local gamer with readers here so that you can make a plan to start your journey in M.A.T.
I was invited to a soft launch of an upcoming FPS (first person shooter) game here in the Philippines. I've had my reservations about FPS, being a complete noob at "fragging" properly and all but upon seeing videos and demos of the game, I became curious and started trying it out. And no, it wasn't the scantly clad, bikini wearing chick on the tarpaulin hanged outside of the venue. This game is different.
Enter MAT Online, the newest FPS around the block. Upon logging in to the game, you are introduced to an explorable lobby of sorts. Here, you can converse with people, set up matches and in a fun but simple diversion, box with other players 1-on-1. For the most part, the lobby serves as a hub for players. You don't just get thrown in and it also serves as an opportunity for you to represent a clan or posse. Now that's style.
Game modes are standard fare with the inclusion of a few unique ones. Team match, defuse the bomb, free for all, a "siege" mode and the exclusive and highly addictive Mummy Mode. For the uninitiated, a team match balances all the players into 2 teams and the objective is to score more frags/kills than the other team. Defuse the bomb pays homage to Counter Strike and just like the tried and true formula, Team A prevents the bomb from going off while Team B attempts to ignite the bomb. Free for all pits everyone into a battle royal where every player is on his own. "Siege" is a unique game mode where kills aren't necessarily required; you win a match by capturing and defending a spot on the map. Mummy Mode is MAT's special game mode where Mummies attempt to infect the other players; infected players become Mummies and once all players are infected, the match ends. Players have to band together to bring down the Mummy and stop the infection.
