A 80-meter-tall EVA-01 Test Type to Debut This Summer

Following the famous works like Gundam and Tetsujin 28 and crowned as the third milestone in the Japanese anime history, the super popular project EVA (also known as "Neon Genesis Evangelion") has recently announced to build a 1:1 scale EVA-01 Test Type, which is to be 80 meters tall, equal to a 20-floor building at least in height. It's been confirmed that the 1:1 scale EVA-01 Test Type will meet the audience this summer, making all the EVA fans able to feast their eyes.

EVA, an anime series directed by Hideaki Anno in 1995, is crowned as the third milestone in the Japanese anime history, following Astro Boy and Gundam. Featuring a unique narrative mode, EVA covers many fields including the occultism and space physics and introduces large amounts of religious and philosophic concepts, making itself well received by the audience. With the help of EVA, Hideaki Anno, who's trapped in a hard situation at that time, presented himself as the hottest anime director in Japan instantly. EVA has created a miracle by reaching the sales of more than 30 billion US dollars in less than 3 years, thanks to its global box office and related products.

According to the official Evagelion: World – Real EVA-01 Test Type Construction Proposal (translated), the bust of EVA-01 Test Type will be built to reflect the situation where Shinji Ikari had his first close contact with EVA-01 Test Type. A 1:1 scale cockpit and the life-size Nagisa Kaoru, a character in EVA, will also accompany the real EVA-01 Test Type when the time comes. What's more, something like museum and art gallery will be made open to the visitors, striving to provide them with impressive, diversified experiences.
