[April Fool]Star Wars: The Old Republic will be Free-to-Play

BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic will be free-to-play and the beta test coming soon! The offcial site just revealed the information and again invites players to join the test. The game is said to be the "largest ever development project, period, in the history of the company", and EA hope for a 2 million subscribers base in the game. But will it be free-to-play or pay-to-play wasn't known until today.

The official site announced the game is free-to-play!

For the question of F2P or P2P, we have reported days ago, now the question was answered and players begin to consider the test. If you have signed up all you need to do is pray for an inviting e-mail.

We will be selecting testers from the Star Wars: The Old Republic community based on various requirements such as systems specifications, age, and region. Because the testing program requires feedback from within the community, you must have an active Star Wars: The Old Republic (“TOR”) community account to participate (no banned accounts). The testing is limited to members who are 18 years of age or older and requires the acceptance of the Game Testing Agreement included in the TOR community sign-up process. Users that meet the requirements of the test and are selected for inclusion in the test program will be contacted via email (so make sure your email address is up to date!). More information here.
