Nowadays, people are aware how convenient the Internet has become. More and more are using the Net for almost about anything with their daily activities. That is the reason why social networking sites are becoming a force in the Net business. Facebook and MySpace are the forefronts of the social networking sites of the Internet. But don't count out the new Google Buzz that is very aggressive in promoting its own social networking website. Moreover, due to its user-based model, many applications are being developed to satisfy the needs of its members. Most notably are the game applications that let the users play it casually for leisure. About a million more applications are coming due to the fact that social networking sites present the unlimited opportunities that developers are craving. It is because the scope is infinite. Chances are the availability of those social networking sites will also be in mobile such as smart phones, PDA's, and other mobile devices that can offer web browsing.

Social networking sites like Facebook can open the door of opportunities for MMO games

So promising that MMO developers might see this as another great opportunity to build an MMO game application for social networking site platform. Several developers have already embarked the new wave of online gaming. Let's take an example the School of Magic. It is a text-based MMORPG that resides in the Facebook social networking site and being hosted as application that its members can access and play along with other friends which are also Facebook users. Think of the 25 million Facebook members. That is how big the coverage can be if one developer decides to make a multiplayer game out of the emerging platform of social networking site. The School of Magic game is not definitely the last of its kind. Ever heard of the famous Farmville? This game was reported to be the real WoW (World of Warcraft) killer. From the looks of it, it may happen. A simple farming simulation game that Facebook users got addicted to and it became a phenomenal hit. It is practically synonymous to the success of Facebook as social networking application.
