- Summary: In Perfect World Entertainment's earlier blog entry by Xarfox, readers were treated to what is a surprisingly attractive game. BOI's character models look nice, and the details of these characters and their equipment (called Soul Gear) are very impressive. Readers also learned that Battle of the Immortals is being developed by an entirely different studio than the majority of PWE games, promising a new and exciting experience for its players.

In Perfect World Entertainment's earlier blog entry by Xarfox, readers were treated to what is a surprisingly attractive game. BOI's character models look nice, and the details of these characters and their equipment (called Soul Gear) are very impressive. Readers also learned that Battle of the Immortals is being developed by an entirely different studio than the majority of PWE games, promising a new and exciting experience for its players.
A more recent post by Xarfox reveals the setting for the game, the world of "Motenia". Xarfox states that the story of Battle of the Immortals is "actually a very interesting blend of East meets West". Certainly not the most unique of sales pitches, but the game can slide on account of how interesting it actually looks.
Including elements of Norse myth in the games own mythology, players are set into a war-torn world 300 years after the events of Ragnarok, which re-shaped the world and left vestiges of the great cataclysm in the form of artifacts all over the world. Still reeling from the aftermath of Ragnarok, a Goddess of Fate sees even more trouble to come in the form of the Dragon Emperor, a notorious dictator that was sealed into stone along with his army by a group of elves known as the Witches of the Millennium. The Goddess believes the Dragon Emperor will break the seal and return to establish his dominion over the world. Only those wielding the artifacts of power can stand a chance against him and his army.
The artwork introduced for this entry is very nicely done as well, illustrating a fierce battle between two shadowy, mounted warriors, a beautiful illustration of a female caster, and a great battle of warriors and dragon mounts, sacking a fiery city.
The latest entry for Battle of the Immortals details what the game actually plays like and features. Xarfox breaks the game down into bullets for easy reading.
The features, particularly the action aspect of gameplay, sound very enticing. Xarfox promises that a more in-depth explanation of these features will be released as the game nears its release, as well as details and dates of the games closed beta. Stay tuned to MMOsite for any further updates.
