Heroes of Newerth Hits the IGF List and New Gameplay Trailer

The Independent Games Festival has unveiled the finalists for its 2010 main competition, revealing a selection ranging from retro to modern and abstract to hardcore. Heroes of Newerth is the only MMO that hit this award list, for Technical Excellence.

Heroes of Newerth is a DotA (Defense of the Ancients) based MMORTS developed by S2 Games. Two teams of 5 play as special Hero units with the assistance of AI-controlled armies in an attempt to destroy the enemy base. The game held a limited-time beta sign up event during the Christmas holiday and released a new gameplay trailer to celebrate the new year 2010.
