Final Fantasy XIV a serious WoW rival
E3 Expo 2009, Los Angeles - USA, June 2nd-4th

Final Fantasy XIV was announced during the E3 2009 (FFXIV E3 trailer) conference. It was featured at GamesCom 2009 in Cologne, Germany and its real gameplay tailer was recorded shortly after at PAX 2009. The title is planned for simultaneous global release in 2010, with language support in Japanese, English, French and German. At the Tokyo Game Show 2009, an impressive trailer gave players an updated look at Eorzea, the vast realm of this incredibly anticipated title. In a recent interview, Wada from Squre Enix thought Final Fantasy XIV was a serious rival for World of Warcraft's MMORPG throne.

Up untill today, Squre Enix has released game information about classes, monster, armory system, areas, battles, guild system and character creation. Its 1st beta sign-up also begun on December 16th. We can already see the arrival of Final Fantasy XIV slowly edging closer.

Guild Wars 2 Will Rock
GamesCom 2009, Cologne - USA, August 19th – 23rd

At Games Com 2009, NCsoft showcased Guild Wars 2's debut trailer and a series of HD character race concept arts. As a sequel to the Guild Wars series, Guild Wars 2 is currently in development by ArenaNet and plans to conduct beta testing in 2010.

The game will feature a new game engine, changes to character development and the PvP system. The core gameplay feature of this game will be the Massive Battles. On December 4th, NCSoft released a new game trailer with a theme of the Races of Tyria, which revealed the vivid background of Guild Wars 2.
