  • Summary: We are acquainted with the word "clone" such as WoW clone, Aion clone. It seems that we should take serious with this issue instead of making fun of card in acknowledgement.

According to a report on The Chosun Ilbo, T3 Entertainment, developer of Audition series in Korea, didn't release any details except a new promo video of their new title Audition 2 in Gstar 2009 in case of a Audition clone MMO released prior to  itself's.

The speaker of T3 Entertainment said, they wouldn't release any information before the game is fully open to the public. Because there would be a clone title very soon if you did. It is said that there are about 20 categories of dance MMOs in the world MMO market. "Though some of them are special, most of these games are just a copy work. Even 'Audition 2' have been announced in China. Of course this is a huge clone."

To copy the others' work is an easy way for developing if a developer wants to get a piece of the MMORPG pie, less budget in game design. Nevertheless, you will never get out of the original works' shadow. People think if they were to make another game just like a already-successful-MMO they could somehow capture that audience. "However, I don't think that's what players are looking for ... Players that have invested time in WoW don't just want to do the same thing in other game - they want to try something completely new and different," said Blizzard lead producer Shane Dabiri.

On the other hand, only a successful game has a "chance" to face clones. Maybe you can treat it as another way of prize.
