Thanks to the development of iPhone and GPS, now a car racing console with no limited tracks becomes true. Garnet Hertz of the Pasadena Art Center College of Design has installed wheels, motors, and other equipments to turn a Sega OutRun Cabinet into a drivable car that renders on-screen what's happening on the real street through GPS sensors.
The running Sega OutRun can be up to 20mph on the road, which overlays OutRun graphics on live GPS maps. The GPS sensors from iPhone will find the vanishing point of the road and combine it with the manner of Google Maps' hybrid setting to spit out an OutRun-style map on arcade screen. The iPhone's internals will keep tracking the progress and keep the screen moving in real-time.

Play for drive, or drive for play? Whatever, this thing is still dangerous and make sure you are in a controlled environment before driving it!
