Most problems of the online players today are hacking cases and trade scams. To prevent this kind of problems, I am writing this article which will help players, newbie and professionals alike, to stop such problems and know when you are about to get scammed or being hacked.

Many people take hacking and scamming lightly but the truth is, being hacked is very hurtful and sad because of the time and effort you put to hunt your item, farm and grind your way up will all be lost in just that one moment instant you are hacked. It affects very much of your scheduled play because you have to spend time for customer support in hopes to get back your items or your character. Sometimes, it takes a very long time to get back your items and sometimes you can't even get it back and that would be devastating to a hard core gamer.

The Scamming Tricks!

Here are the tips and signs that you are about to be scammed by another player.

1. Trade Scam - If a player trades with you with money, item, anything that is tradable and cancels the trade afterwards, the other player is likely to scam you. He/She will tell you she/he is lagging but actually he/she cancels the trade in hopes of tricking you because when you do this on most online games, sometimes in the trade window the item appears but actually it is not there anymore because he/she canceled it and you are experiencing lag and that's why it will glitch like that. Also, they do other tricks such as creating newbie accounts and going to the market and bazaar place where people are trading and they trade the players. Sometimes you get scammed by wrong trading by this tactics.
2. Impersonating Scam – The other most scam cases is this one where someone is impersonating your friend, guild/clan master or anyone you know that you trust online. The scammers will make a new character that resembles the name of those famous players and private message you, asking to borrow items for guild/siege/clan wars then when you lend them, you get scammed. So, make sure that, the person who you trust is truly that person and not an impersonator. This is also the case for hacking where the impersonator asked to use your character in guild/clan/siege wars if you cannot attend and telling you that he/she will use your character instead of you so you will win the guild/siege/clan wars.
3. Top-Up Scam - For some online games, they used cards to top-up so they can play and many players are trading items, gold for top-up cards. You can easily get scammed by doing these trades because the trade is not Fair Square. It is either the other player gives the Top-Up Card code first and verify the card is authenticated then he/she will trade the items for that Top-Up Card or Trade the item first and get the Top-Up Card code which you are not sure the code works. To avoid such situation, better buy the Top-Up Card yourself or go to E-bay if you really want to buy items for that online game.
4. Auto-Trade Scam – There are many players also that are victimize by this tactics where a scammer open up his/her shop trade and put additional zeroes on the items he/she sells. Those higher level other players who are in a hurry or is lacking of sleep from farming, grinding sometimes purchased this items by mistake and they get scammed in gold because the items are much, much expensive where a 500 item cost can be sold at 5,000 or 5,000,000.
5. Price Scam – Before you buy, trade items, please make sure to canvas the price or asked your guild mates standard price on the game market your playing. You never know, you already been scammed by super expensive overpricing merchants. Pay attention particularly on slotted equipments and none slotted equipments.
