Mike expressed, nowadays it is a must to think over the influence WOW brings to players when developing a new MMO. It's not sensible to get rid of the impact and market shares WOW owns. Just as Quake sets the basic frame for FPS games, WOW establishes the most current User Interface for MMO games. MMO Dragon Age will employ the same type of User Interface as the WOW's so as to help players immerse themselves into the game world and experience unique game content better.
Another point for making a MMO is to design multi-layer content for players to go through. Along with the players' leveling up, the corresponding content should also be updated gradually in order to provide varied gaming experiences in different periods.
Mike also mentioned the aspects MMO Dragon Age can learn from RPGs.
First, the storyline. A tightknit and good story can attract more players to throw themselves into the game while a poor MMO cannot even ensure players a sense of adventure in a whole world.
