Torchlight is developed by Runic Games formed by Max Schaefer and Erich Schaefer who were founders of Diablo developer Blizzard North. The whole game plays up an anime-style which is certainly familiar to WOWers. The same as Diablo, this game possesses random dungeon generating system and random item attribute generating system. As for single play, players are provided with three playable classes: a muscular bald man with beard (Destroyer), a slim and sexy maid (Vanquisher, good at using traps and long-ranged weapons like bows and guns), a magician wearing a pair of odd glasses (Alchemist, the combination of science and magic, just as the Warlock in WOW). The spotlighted feature is the pet system going with players forever and freeing players from loneliness. The pet will fight and carry items for players during the leveling up process. The in-game retire system allows characters to retire after reaching a certain level and gives out rewards to players' new character. Besides, the interesting fishing system enables players to fish something for their pet or other prizes. What's more, an editor is provided as well so that players may create and design what they want to share. In general, the game is easy to master, the difficulty is classified distinctly, and graphics and spells are dazzling and stunning. What a pity, there is no CG trailers in the game. However, as a 760MB-sized game, Torchlight gives players an experience that other same-sized RPGs cannot match.

This time, let's choose Destroyer to start the game, which seems easy to control. Shortly after the game backdrop introduction, the character will be born on a small bridge. Chat with Syl and obtain the quest Aid Brink which requires you to find and protect her companion Brink in the Ember Mine.

Rippling pools can be often seen in the game. Click the pool to fish. Feed fish to the pets and they will turn to be creatures.
