  • Summary: General speaking, it’s satisfactory. Compared with Diablo 2, the game has been improved in various aspects and some functions are optimized and simplified so as to cater for masses of players better. It is a single-player game currently, but MMO version is worth anticipating which may take 18 months. Graphics, soundtrack and music are all excellent, even the sound of dripping water can be heard clearly.

Recommendation New Games Frontier

Like Battlefield Heroes, Torchlight is a western cartoon-style, but not the cute anime-style.

Torchlight (console version), an ARPG of Diablo genre, developed by Runic Games and published by Perfect World has been available at the price of $19.95 since October 27th in North America. The release date of Torchlight Online is not clear yet. The console version looks like the low-quality version of Diablo 3.

Torchlight

The class selection interface will come out first after logging into the game. Three playable classes are available: Destroyer, Vanquisher and Alchemist, which are corresponding to melee combat class, long-range class and mage respectively. Each class is provided with a pet. You can select either a cat or dog companion and give whatever name to it (After playing the game, we think the pet system is quite strong. Details will be introduced later). Players cannot DIY characters or choose the gender, just as players said Torchlight is a lot like Diablo 2 even in the aspect of disadvantages. We don't know whether the developers will enrich the game content in the later version, but we think players don't mind adding more classes and pets.

This time, we chose to the Destroyer class, which was born with three skill branches:

1: Berserker: casts high damage, suitable for two-handed weapons
2: Titan: emphasizes on defense and control
3: Spectral: I personally feel it looks like Paladin for it even has the aura as well.
