"To prevent AD (Alzheimer's Disease), playing MMORPGs that have been operated for around 10 years seems more effective than playing cards," said CEO of Korea-based Entelligent Games, who's doing researching on brain activation via psychology.

In KGC 2009 held on Oct. 8, the CEO expressed in his speech titled "Differences of Brain Activation Found in the Play of StarCraft and Go" that, games were more helpful for brain activation than any other things.

According to CEO of Entelligent Games, those like the government and citizens who claim that games are bad for the brain growth obviously have no enough evidence to prove themselves.

He also said that parents usually praised children playing go in the chess room and blamed those playing games. In his opinion, it's true that games might bring negative impacts in some aspects, but it totally had no bad effects on brain activation.

To show how games affect the brain, the CEO also unveiled related research results regarding how StarCraft and go influenced brain activation.

His research results show that professional StarCraft players enjoy better brain activation than those studying in the go department of the involved university.

He then explained that people had to watch with eyes, use the mouse and keyboard and get to understand the overall gaming direction when playing StarCraft. So, more brain elements were involved in the play of StarCraft than that of go.

However, to advocate games for the sake of brain activation, many problems still have to be solved. If games are good for the brain, people really have to be encouraged to play games. But we still cannot rush to a conclusion, since almost no related research in this field has been made till now. Further researches on how games influence brain activation still have to be carried out.

Additionally, CEO of Entelligent Games expressed that he would also do research on how MMORPGs affect brain activation in the future, since MMORPGs required more brain activities than StarCraft. He believed that different results might be achieved at last.
