KOF Movie First Trailer Unveiled, Director Said It Won’t Ruin the Original Work

King of Fighters movie is filmed as a live-action movie. Recently, the director pushed out a trailer which contained fertile movie frames.

The King of Fighters movie quietly began filming in Vancouver, Canada on November 27, 2008 under the eye of director Gordon Chan, the dynamic Hong Kong-born helmer of Fist of Legend, Beast Cop and the 2003 Jackie Chan movie The Medallion. The movie stars Maggie Q (Live Free and Die Hard), Sean Faris (Never Back Down), Will Yun Lee (Elektra), Francoise Yip (Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem), Monique Ganderton (Supernatural) and the coolest Sith Lord ever, Ray Park (a.k.a. Darth Maul from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace).

Gordon Chan said KOF movie won't disappoint game fans or ruin the original work because himself is a big fan of KOF. However, after so many failed movies made from games or comics, can we trust KOF? Not another Dragon Ball or Legend of Chunli tragedy, please.

The trailer also showcases the fist flame in the grappling scenes of the movie, imitating the one in the original game work when characters throw punches.

The film is backed by Inferno Entertainment as an English language, Taiwanese co-production between Double Edge Entertainment, China’s Enlight Media, Japan’s Micott & Basara, the U.S.’ Convergence Entertainment and Axis Entertainment. Inferno will have the licensing rights for international releases. Filming was end in March 2009 and is now currently preparing for distribution in 2010.
