  • Summary: Last weekend, the most anticipated Dragon Ball Online released its grand closed beta test in South Korea for the first time. Some common players have been invited to take part in that test. Now, let's take a quick look at the trial report!

Recommendation Human-friendly Interface Design

As illustrated, the game interface looks quite pleasing and human-friendly. Each function is arranged compactly and all kinds of necessary MMORPG elements are contained. Players who have played MMORPG before may find this game easy to operate. For instance, press I key to bring up inventory window, C key for character info window. Sadly, each window cannot be dragged randomly as one likes. However, players can set shortcut keys at random, which is rather considerate.

The map design is also friendly. Players can acquire a lot of information from a map. Circles indicate the places where your quest can be finished. For the region you haven't set foot in, a route will be displayed to guide you how to get there.

Stores and NPCs are also showed in the map with corresponding icons. S indicates the locations of Skill Masters. In Dragon Ball Online, players must pay them for learning skills.

Recommendation Combat System

With regard to combat, we didn't know how to control at first until we spent much time reading Korean help files and operated in the game. As shown by the picture, each character has three indication bars: HP, EP and RP. For most players, they are familiar with HP and EP, which are the same with Health Points and Mana Points. Whereas, RP is specially designed in DragonBall, which indicates the character's mental state, it is also equal to Rage Points. RP will be accumulated during a combat. If players complete designated quests, skills that need RP will also be upgraded.

Every time RP reaches the maximum value, RP balls will appear under the RP bar. If players throw RP ball together with using skills, extra skill effects will be produced, different bonuses will be added to different skills. For example, RP balls will increase the power of an attack skill and extend the effective time of a buff skill.
