We've looked at the combat and production jobs of Free Realms.  The jobs we have left to investigate are the jobs known as freestyle jobs.  Freestyle encompasses many different jobs in the game.  The jobs included are Card Duelist, Demolition Derby Driver, Kart Driver, Pet Trainer, and Postman.  Although they are all still centered around quest completion, each of these jobs have their own way of leveling.  Every freestyle job has a unique way of leveling.  Let's have a brief look at each freestyle job.

Adventurer

The Adventurer is an explorer that finds locations all over the game world.  To discover these locations you must find hidden icons throughout the world.  Not to mention there are sub-locations to discover by merely walking through them.  The Adventurer also collects objects he or she finds on the ground.  With a combination of both these activities the Adventurer will level up.  Additionally, you can level up by completing lore quests found throughout the game.

Card Duelist

You've seen this before in game like Everquest 2 and Star Wars Galaxies.  A physical card game exists outside the virtual world of Free Realms.  When you buy physical packs you can also get virtual items.  Within the game you can play this trading card game with those extra items you got from purchasing a real pack.  You may either play another player or go up against many NPCs while you level your Card Duelist job.  Full virtual decks are available through the Station Cash store.  You can build multiple decks and find what works for you within the game.  There's an entire line of quests to complete with NPCs to hit level 20.  You won't have to duel other players to reach the level cap.  If you don't want to battle other players, card dueling NPCs have multiple decks for you to challenge and differing difficulties.

Demolition Derby Driver

Recently, both the kart racing jobs were "turned on".  Both jobs can now level all the way to 20 like all the jobs in Free Realms.  Demolition Derby is exactly what it sounds like.  You battle NPCs or other players in arena type areas where the main objective is to smash.  In order to win first place in all this chaos you've got to have the most points.  To earn points you wreck other karts by "jumping" on them.  Land the final blow on another kart and receive two points.  Land the final blow on a kart that's currently in first place and receive three points.  However, if you find your kart respawning after someone knocks you out and you lose a point.  Of course, all the while you'll be picking up power-ups that make you tougher, restore hit points, make you ultimate, and so on.

Kart Driver

The other kart driving job has you racing against other players on different tracks.  Just like the Demolition Derby job you can pick up items during a race that help you or hinder your opponents.  Both kart jobs feature a boosting mechanism that replenishes after time.  Use this effectively and you may see yourself in first place.  Having an awesome kart will also help.  You can buy new karts for both jobs with Station Cash.  You may also buy parts to upgrade your karts in the garage.  Questing and leveling both kart jobs will give you better parts along the way, but if you're really into driving a kart buying one might be a good idea.

Pet Trainer

To really benefit from become a level 20 Pet Trainer you might think about buying a permanent pet.  Although you can level from 1 to 20 without a permanent pet, it's a lot more fun to pull out your companion at any time.  This freestyle job requires you to take care of an animal.  Whenever your pet is "out" you'll need to make sure he or she is happy, well fed, clean, and active.  When your pet is not with you and in his or her house those stats will not decrease.  To level the job you must teach your pet tricks that increase in difficultly along the way.  You perform tricks by basically connecting dots that pop up on the screen before the time runs out.  For example, you draw a music note to make your pet dance.  Additionally, you can buy clothes for your permanent pet with Station Cash.

Postman

Finally, the Postman is a job that requires you to engage in the infamous Free Realms tile matching game.  You sort through mail by connecting like letters (tiles) in the mailbox.  Eventually you'll find the ones you need and move on, however, that's not all a Postman does.  The Postman also delivers mail all over Sacred Grove.  For instance, when on timed runs through Sanctuary a Postman must find the correct mailboxes, toss the mail in, and avoid the neighborhood dogs the entire time!  To avoid the dogs you must thrown bones on the ground to distract them.  These are races against the clock as you deliver the mail in a timely fashion.

As you can see the freestyle jobs offer something different than most MMORPGs.  There's nothing groundbreaking in them but they are a great alternative to combat and production jobs.  As far as a free-to-play game goes this makes Free Realms very diverse.  You're going to find something to do while playing Free Realms whether for ten minutes or two hours.
