This epic movie is expected by a huge audience. What kind of surprise will it bring to us? We cannot know yet. However, this will not prevent us from speculating the scenes to be reproduced in the movie.
The War of the Ancients
10,000 years ago, the Highborne Elves' reckless abuse of the magic power in the Well of Eternity led to the first invasion of the Burning Legion, thus the War of the Ancients. At the end of this war, the fierce battle between Queen Azshara and Archdruid Malfurion Stormrage disturbed the Hignborne Elves' magic to summon Sargeras, the Dark Titan. The turbulence resulted in a great explosion of Well of Eternity. This explosion caused tremendous earthquakes which disrupted the frame of this world. The roaming ocean flooded the cracks on the continent. Nearly 80% land mass of Kalimdor was torn apart, leaving behind a few scattered continents. A new ocean sits between them. The center of the new ocean, once occupied by the Well of Eternity, became a magnificent vortex where chaotic power flows. This horrible trauma came to be known as the Maelstrom, whose reckless swirl will never cease. This event was named as the Great Sundering afterwards. And this also gave birth to Azeroth as known to our time and all the strife on it.

The War of the Shifting Sands
1,000 years ago,
the Night Elves, led by Arch Druid Fandral Staghelm, fought a great war with the
intelligent Qiraji in Silithus. The elves used the shifting sands of Silithus to
cover their flank. As challenged by countless Qiraji, they incurred grave losses
to defend Kalimdor. Fandral Staghelm lost his son in this war. At the most
dangerous moment, the Guardian Dragon, headed by three of their princes, joined
this battle. With their help and the great sacrifice of the Night Elves, the
Qiraji were eventually sealed behind the Scarab Wall. Afterwards, this raging
battle came to be known as the War of the Shifting Sands.
