Recently, massive gameplay details of Monster Hunter Frontier Online (MHL OL), a MMOPRG developed by CAPCOM, were updated on its Taiwan official website. 11 new weapons were made available this time and it was announced that the game is scheduled to enter closed beta right in this summer.

Melee attack or distant support, it's all up to you. Although currently European and American players cannot explore the game, let's just have a glimpse into this excellent game first.

In MHF OL, the weapons are classified into two categories according to their attack methods. The BladeMaster weapons are generally used in melee attacks while the Gunner weapons are normally applied in distant attacks. Now let's check out the brief introduction:

The BladeMaster weapons include Sword, Dual Swords, Great Sword, Blade, Great Hammer, Hunting Horn, Lance and Gunlance. Compared with Gunner weapons, these weapons can inflict severer single damage, and allow players to equip themselves with armors of better defense. Choose BladeMaster weapons, if you want to experience the pleasure of melee combats!

The Gunner weapons, on the other hand, include Bowgun (Light Bowgun and Heavy Bowgun) and Bow, which are all capable of attacking monsters from distance by launching the special abnormity-causing bombs (Bowgun specific) and potions (Bow specific). Compared with BladeMaster weapons, the gunner weapons have larger attack range but the defense of the armors available to players will be relatively inferior. Players who want to fight from distance or who prefer flexibility can choose the Gunner weapons instead.

Unlike the other games, MHF OL does not limit the types of the weapons which players can use. As long as you have enough storage space and money, it won't be a problem at all to become the weapon master who is adept at two or even three kinds of weapons!
