MMOsite: We're so glad to take this opportunity today to talk with Martin Tan from ChangYou.com (US) Inc. about the action MMORPG Dragon Oath. First off, would you please introduce yourself and your company to our readers?

Martin Tan: I am very excited to have the first official announcement about our first MMORPG title "Dragon Oath" here on MMOSITE.Com! My name is Martin Tan, the General Manager of ChangYou.com (US) Inc., which is the U.S. subsidiary of one of the leading MMORPG developers and publishers in China named ChangYou.com Ltd. (NASDAQ:CYOU) "Dragon Oath" will go through its first public testing phase called "Pre-Closed Beta" in the beginning of July. MMOSITE.Com will be our main supporter for the key distribution!

MMOsite: Is it the first title of your company? And what is your original intention of developing Dragon Oath? How popular is this game in China?

Martin Tan: Yes it is, and our first mission in the U.S. market will be publishing "Dragon Oath" in English version. "Dragon Oath" is also known as "Tian Long Ba Bu" in China (Players just call it "TLBB"), and it has over 800,000 daily concurrent users, and the number is still growing as of now.

The reason for such a massive and sensational popularity is because of its uniqueness of features and the depth of "Dragon Oath." It is very easy to play while having very deep features and systems. Also, it has the excellent economy system, and most importantly, a "supreme" community system.

Speaking about its community system, I am certain that "Dragon Oath" will be one of the first MMORPG titles that will change the entire reputation of F2P MMORPGs because of its uniqueness, and especially a special concept that we had built as the basic platform from the beginning of its development: "Community MMORPG." It definitely is something that not many MMORPG players have experienced in F2P MMORPGs.

Martin Tan:"Dragon Oath" is a massively multiplayer game focused on martial arts and community building. Based on the very popular Chinese novel "Tian Long Ba Bu," which may be translated as "Tale of Eight Demigods," it incorporates many missions and activities that follow the original storyline, which has also been adapted to add new features and characters. These elements allow players to develop their own personalized experiences, and also foster virtual social relationships, which we have designed to appeal across a diverse range of interests.

Fighting-based games often have high player participation when they are launched due to the excitement level of the content, but users may leave rapidly as their initial enthusiasm fades.
